Scoring Chelsea: Grade 9

23 Feb 2022 | 06:56 | Football

Chelsea had a huge advantage when they won 2-0 against Lille in the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round.

Talent of N’Golo Kante

Goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic were enough for Chelsea to take down Lille. That is a great advantage for teachers and students Thomas Tuchel. Below are the specific scores of each Blues player in this match.

Edouard Mendy – 7 points: Mendy did not have to show his talent too much in this match, but when needed, he still showed certainty in the wooden frame.

Andreas Christensen – 7 points:  A solid performance on the right side of the back three. Christensen helped Chelsea prevent most of the opponent’s blocks.

Chelsea have an important victory against Lille.

Thiago Silva – 8 points: Calm in the center of defence. Promising Lille striker Jonathan David has had a taste of what he can face once he moves to the Premier League.

Antonio Rudiger – 7 points: Nearly scored an own goal with a clumsy clearance in the first half, but that was perhaps Rudiger’s only unsafe handling of the game.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7 points: Neat and disciplined in the wide position. A great save by keeper Azpilicueta kept by Azpilicueta a few minutes into the game with a real cannonball.

N’Golo Kante – 9 points: The second big Chelsea goal belongs to Kante. It was Kante’s familiar and unstoppable sprint. On his best fitness day, Kante showed top class.

Mateo Kovacic – 6 points: Unfortunately for Kovacic, he was injured and had to leave the field early in the second half.

Marcos Alonso – 6 points: Alonso closes in on a volley. The performance of this player is relatively well-rounded.

A huge advantage for the defending champion of the Champions League.

Hakim Ziyech – 7 points: Similar to Kovacic, Ziyech also limped off the field due to injury and could not complete the match. Ziyech has some smooth moments but needs to be more assertive at key moments.

Christian Pulisic – 8 points: An accurate shot and deserves praise. It is likely that Pulisic will start from the start when Chelsea face Liverpool in the League Cup final.

Kai Havertz – 8 points: If more accurate, the German striker can score at least 3 goals. Even so, Havertz shows a constant danger and has a much better ability to coordinate with teammates than Romelu Lukaku.
