In the summer of 2017, Barcelona spent 147 million euros to recruit Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund, with the expectation that the French striker would fill the void left by Neymar. However, Dembele’s career at the Camp Nou was tied up with injuries, making his contributions to the Catalunya team extremely limited.
However, after taking over the hot seat, Xavi still considers the striker born in 1997 as part of the plan. However, when Barca offered to extend his contract, Dembele made a claim, wanting to receive a higher income. Blaugrana decided to withdraw the offer and find a way to get rid of the French star this January.
According to Marca, Dembele attracted the interest of 3 Premier League clubs , Man Utd, Newcastle and Chelsea . Currently, all three teams are considering a move for the former Dortmund star. The report says Barca are ready to let their “bomb” go on loan for the rest of the season.
Dembele was once a target of Man Utd in the summer, until the Red Devils successfully recruited Jadon Sancho. Newcastle are trying to upgrade the squad to serve the goal of relegation. Meanwhile, coach Thomas Tuchel needs new options for the Blues’ attack.
