Vietnam’s central defender is likely to be absent from the match against China after he tested positive for Covid-19.

On the morning of January 29, the Vietnamese team carried out a Covid-19 test. The first is a quick test method. In addition to the Vietnamese team, the Chinese team also had to perform a quick test. The reason is that both teams are competing abroad and just entered Vietnam last night. With the Vietnamese team, in addition to 24 players who moved from Australia to Hanoi, the group of 8 players who stayed at home to prepare for the match against China included Van Dai, Phi Son, Ngoc Hai, Tien Linh, Van Toan, Trong Long, Quang Vinh, and Van Do were also tested quickly.

The test results brought bad news to Coach Park Hang Seo. Center-back Que Ngoc Hai was positive when tested quickly for Covid-19. The group of 8 players with Ngoc Hai will also be closely monitored to prevent any more positive cases of this dangerous virus.

According to Zing’s source, Quang Vinh tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 5 days. He was in close contact with teammates and Que Ngoc Hai was most likely infected from this source. The players practice at home strictly following safety rules, with the supervision of a member of the Vietnam Football Federation. So getting Covid-19 is unlucky.

If Que Ngoc Hai continues to be positive for RT-PCR, he will have to miss the match against China on February 1. Before that, Ngoc Hai could not go to Australia to play because of a suspension. This is the 4th case of Covid-19 infection in the Vietnamese team.

Before Ngoc Hai, Van Toan, Tien Linh, Hoang Duc were also infected. The luckiest is Hoang Duc. The player recovered in time and went to Australia to play with the Vietnamese team. He was facilitated by Mr. Park to enter the field in the second half and immediately proved his level.

In the remaining developments, 59 members of the Chinese team had negative results when tested quickly. Tel Vietnam and China will also continue to test by RT-PCR method to accurately determine positive or negative results.
