Frank Lampard officially welcomes a new contract from Chelsea

Coach Frank Lampard’s coaching staff at Goodison Park officially welcomed a new face from Chelsea.

After parting with coach Rafael Benitez, Everton decided to give their trust to coach Frank Lampard. With Benitez and another veteran captain, coach Carlo Ancelotti, both failed to meet expectations, it is not surprising that this time The Toffees have believed in a young strategist.

Notably, besides popular rookies like Donny Van de Beek or Dele Alli, Lampard also signed a new contract from Chelsea. Specifically, the official website of The Blues confirms, assistant coach Joe Edwards has left Stamford Bridge to join Lampard’s coaching staff at Everton.

 Edwards left Chelsea after many years at the club. 

It should be noted that Edwards has had 27 years with Chelsea, starting to work with the youngest players in the Academy in 2004. Since the 2014/15 season, Edwards was given the right to manage the Blues Under-18 team. for 2 years and helped them win the FA Youth Cup twice. In the summer of 2019, after outstanding achievements at the youth level, Edwards was officially appointed to the position of assistant coach of the first team.

Under coach Thomas Tuchel, Edwards continues to take on this role. Notably, according to the announcement from Chelsea, the position that Edwards left in the Blues coaching staff will not be replaced at this time.
