On the evening of May 23, at the closing ceremony of the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung presented the flag of the Southeast Asian Sports Federation to the Cambodian representative. This is a symbolic move of the role of the host country of the SEA Games. Next year, Cambodia will host the 32nd Southeast Asian Games from May 5 to May 16, 2023.

This is the first time Cambodia has hosted the Southeast Asian Games. The host country is expected to host 40 sporting events, the Olympics, the Asian Games and some traditional sports groups with Cambodian strengths.

Cambodia is well-prepared in terms of facilities, such as completing the construction of a stadium with a capacity of 65,000 spectators, and promises to bring an impressive sports experience to the Southeast Asian sports delegation at next year’s University Sports Festival.
