The 2022 Traffic Safety Marathon brings together some 1,000 runners to compete in the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km races. The runway of this competition mainly revolves around the poetic Liuyi Lake, coupled with the green landscape on both sides of the road, the athletes are very excited. After nearly half a day of fierce competition, the organizing committee awarded 8 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 8 third prizes for men’s and women’s long-distance events.

At the closing ceremony and award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien, Director of the Marathon Traffic Safety Organizing Committee emphasized: “The competition is not just an ordinary sports field, but more importantly, the athletes do one thing, which is to share and support families who are in distress due to a car accident of a loved one.

In addition, with the slogan of “traffic safety – everyone’s happiness”, the organizing committee hopes that through running, every athlete participating in the event will become an active ambassador to spread the spirit of safe participation in traffic. The Traffic Safety Marathon is part of the 2022 Traffic Safety Year series with the theme “Building a Safe Traffic Culture Related to the Effective Control of the COVID-19 Epidemic” and aims to increase self-discipline awareness. Legislate and build a safe traffic culture.

In addition to the significance of attracting attention, spreading culture and civilized behavior when participating in transportation in Vietnam, the award also aims to donate to the United Hands Fund for Newspaper Traffic Safety.

Since its establishment in 2013, Traffic News has organized hundreds of public welfare projects through the fund, distributed thousands of gifts and scholarships, and built a number of charitable homes and rural transportation bridges, with a total value of tens of billions of dollars.

For this traffic safety marathon, all proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship will be transferred to the Traffic Safety Joint Fund after deducting expenses.

Also within the framework of the program, through the Traffic Safety Committee of Henan Province, Traffic News awarded 50 gifts worth VND 2 million each to the families of traffic accident victims in the province.
